Frequently Asked Lash Questions

Do Lash Extensions damage your natural lashes?

No, they do not. Your natural lashes have a growing and shedding cycle they go through, whether or not you are wearing extensions!  Once your natural lashes shed, the extensions fall with them as well, since they are not applied to the skin of your eyelid, and are bonded to a single eyelash hair.  (Please NOTE: Professionally-applied eyelash extensions are NOT the same as any other type of cheap lash enhancement such as strip lashes or clusters, which require no training, license or certification.) In contrast,  I am fully licensed & certified and have been applying lash extensions for over a decade on both the East and West Coasts, in luxury salon settings.

How long do they take to apply?

About 2-3 hours INITIALLY, depending on your desired eyelash look.  Maintenance appointments (FILLS) take 60 - 90 mins ON AVERAGE.  Many people look forward to their relaxing "lash nap", and the studio is very cozy, with blankets provided for your comfort.

How long do they last?

To maintain a lush, full look, appointments are recommended every 2 weeks and can vary between 60 and 90 minutes depending on your preferred lash type/style, and how many natural lashes have shed since your last fill.   As long as you avoid oil and waterproof makeup, high heat directly on the lashes, wash them every day with lash shampoo, and don't rub or pull them, your lashes should be able to look good for an average of 2-3 weeks between appointments.  (If you have not been to a fill appointment for longer than three weeks, OR/and are missing more than 50% of your lashes, please notify your lash tech prior to your appointment, as you may require a half-set or full set application to restore your desired lash look.)  At your first fill appointment after your full set, your lash tech will inform you about whether 2 or 3 weeks is more appropriate for you.

Can I wash my face?

Yes, you can, and it is absolutely necessary to practice excellent face and eye hygiene while wearing extensions. Take extra care around your lashes (NO oils, creams, micellar cleansers or facial cleanser on lashes!!!!!!).  You will be able to purchase lash shampoo from your stylist at your appointment, this is the only product that should be used to clean your eyelids and eyelashes.

Are they waterproof?

Yes, once the adhesive fully cures, it is safe for the lashes to be wet. I recommend waiting 6-8 hours, according to manufacturer's instructions. After you get them wet, please press/blot them gently and carefully with a paper towel (NOT TISSUES) and gently use the tip of a spoolie to arrange them. 

Can you wear mascara?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! NO MASCARA needed or recommended when you are wearing eyelash extensions! (this is one of the many reasons they are so wildly popular)

Can they be removed?

Absolutely! It's rare that I'm ever asked to remove lash extensions, but if you will be having eye surgery or ocular cosmetic surgery it is often necessary.  (Once your doctor says you are safely healed, a full set of lashes can then be applied.)

- COVID POLICY -
Currently, salon safety standards require masking during appointments and would prefer that you do the same unless you are receiving a facial or lip treatment as well. I am committed to thoroughly cleaning between each session with medical-grade disinfectant, and a strong UV/HEPA air filter will be running at all times next to the lash bed, for your safety. All new clients are required to fill out a declaration form.  If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms, or have recently tested positive, kindly ask me to reschedule your appointment.
    - LATE ARRIVAL -
If you are running late or unable to make your appointment please inform me!
If you expect that you will be later than 10 minutes, PLEASE notify me ASAP (971)269-8187.  If you are later than 10 minutes it makes me run late, and will result in your appointment being abbreviated, you will still be charged for your full appointment time.  If you do not give 24 hours notice before cancelling an appointment, or if you are a no-show, you will be charged 100% of your service.  All new clients are required to put down a non-refundable deposit of $50, which will be applied to your total service at the time of your scheduled appointment. If you do not come in for your appointment, deposit is still non-refundable.  This is a by-appointment service and due to current rules in our state I cannot take walk-ins. Thank you for your understanding!
- NO EXTRA GUEST/CHILDREN -
Due to COVID-19 safety precautions at this time NO EXTRA GUEST will be PERMITTED during your appointment, unless also being serviced. (Service Animals are always allowed.) This is to insure safety and guidelines regulations.

- REFUNDS -
I have a NO REFUND POLICY ON ANY SERVICES or products, however I do offer a 2-day grace period to notify me immediately of any concerns or discomfort. Your comfort and enjoyment of your new lashes is very important to me!  :)
